The Fortress Investment Group was founded in 1998, and through the years, the company hired individuals who contributed to the firm’s success, and one of them is Peter Briger. He currently serves as the company’s principal, and he is also the co-chairman of the company’s board of directors. He joined the Fortress Investment Group in 2002, after serving Goldman Sachs and Co. for more than six years. Through his knowledge on how to run a private equity business, the Fortress Investment Group experienced never before seen growth, that was credited to him. Forbes even considers Peter Briger as one of the top 400 business people in the United States, being able to perform his corporate duties while at the same time, donating a lot of money for charities and foundations.
When he was still in college, he decided to get into Princeton University and took up a Bachelor of Arts degree. After he graduated, he decided to improve Peter Briger’s studies further and went to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and worked hard for his M.B.A. degree. His extensive background in the field of business and economics made it possible for him to score a job at Goldman Sachs and Co. in 1996. He strived hard to get promoted, but a different career offer came to him. It was from the Fortress Investment Group, and Peter Briger was invited to work with the newly established firm. He took the job and worked hard to get promoted. He later became one of the members of the company’s board of directors, and he was elected by his colleagues in 2009 to serve as their co-chairman.
Peter Briger continues to show his colleagues that his contributions to the company were vital in keeping it alive. During the 2008 Global Recession, it was Peter Briger who helped to keep the company afloat. He thought for strategies that the company could apply during these troubling times, and they managed to get through all of the problems that they faced. He is still working with the Fortress Investment Group, and he has a major role in keeping a positive relationship with their foreign business partners.
